Amazon Finds: Crestgolf Putting Golf Ball

The Problem

There are far too many putting training aids available on Amazon! How do you know which ones actually work to improve your putting stroke during practice?

The Solution

Introducing the Crestgolf Putting Practice Golf Ball. This unique golf ball features cut-off sides that offer better visual feedback on your practice putts. A well-executed putt will head straight towards the target while putts that curve to the sides indicate an open or closed putter face, providing instant feedback on your putting stroke.

How I Found It

Initially, I discovered this practice golf ball on Temu, though it’s also available on Amazon. It doesn’t have many reviews or exposure on Amazon but is a top-selling product on Temu. As a new father of two, my practice time is limited so I wanted to enhance my putting practice at home.

Upgrading my practice setup with a new mat and other accessories, I stumbled upon the Crestgolf Golf Ball. Given the positive reviews from our Forum Testers about the PuttOUT Devil Ball, I saw this as a great addition to my routine, hoping it would offer valuable feedback similar to what the Devil Ball testers found in their testing. At just $5 for a ball that won’t get lost in the woods, it seemed like a risk-free purchase to try and assess its effectiveness.

How it Works (or didn’t)

As with most Amazon Finds, this training-aid golf ball lives up to its claims. Although it doesn’t feel exceptionally soft (being a two-piece ball), it’s comparable to putting with a range ball, neither bad nor very good.

The training-aid golf ball serves to demonstrate your putter path and face angle at impact. A well-struck putt goes straight while a closed face or pulled putt results in the ball going towards you. An open face or pushed putt sends the ball away from you. After several hours of practice, I found this feedback to be consistent. It not only revealed how I struck the putt but also assessed my start-line accuracy.

The Crestgolf Practice Putting Ball has some drawbacks. Its setup is a bit tedious, requiring precise alignment and adjustment to ensure accurate results. While it seldom falls over, it may lean on its sides during setup. Additionally, for longer putts, a level surface becomes crucial, as I experienced issues with the ball tailing off to the left due to my mat’s slower speed and apparent tilt in the floor.

Bottom Line

Overall, I’ve enjoyed using the Crestgolf Practice Golf Ball in my routine, finding it to be a valuable putting training aid that provides immediate feedback. Although the setup process can be a bit tedious, it’s not overly bothersome and doesn’t discourage me from practicing with it.

At its affordable price, there are few other training aids offering comparable feedback for putting strokes. While I believe that companies like PuttOUT have created superior versions of this type of practice ball, at just $5, the Crestgolf option remains a fun and occasionally challenging tool to help improve putting skills.
