Best PING Drivers

Best PING Drivers

We tested 37 drivers for 2025 and four of them are PINGs. We tested the PING G430 MAX 10K because it was the best driver of 2024 and it earned second place in 2025. The G440 LST, a new release, grabbed third. If you are in the market for a new PING driver, we will review all the results of the 2025 Best Driver testing and look at some lower-priced PING drivers that are still available with limited shaft options. Here is everything you need to know about the best PING drivers.

Best PING driver of 2025: PING G430 MAX 10K

We give the best driver of the previous season a chance to compete in our most recent driver testing. The PING G430 MAX 10K was the best for 2024 and earned second best in 2025. It was the only driver in the 2025 test to score higher than 9.0 in distance, accuracy and forgiveness.

It’s about as well-rounded as you’ll find.

Testers noted that it’s tough to hit a truly “bad” drive with the PING G430 MAX 10K. PING did keep this one in the lineup for 2025 so it’s not hard to find one that meets your specifications.

Buy this if:

✅ You want balanced performance. It offers top-tier distance, consistent accuracy and excellent forgiveness.

✅ You need minimal trade-offs. Some drivers offer distance but sacrifice control or vice versa. The G430 MAX 10K excels in every category.

Don’t buy this if:

❌ You’re looking for a big discount. Retailing at $599, the G430 MAX 10K didn’t receive the same price cut as some older PING drivers.

PING G440 LST

The PING G440 LST is the highest-performing G440 model in the 2025 test. It finished third overall in the main test and was also the best for accuracy in our test for the best golf drivers for high swing speeds.

Despite being labeled “LST” (Low Spin Technology), it’s surprisingly easy for various golfers to launch. Our data shows tight ball speed deltas and consistent carry yardages so you can expect stable distance across the face.

The one area where the G440 LST fell behind a little was accuracy but when higher swing speeds use the club it’s very accurate. The G440 LST may just need to be dialed in for your specific speed.

Buy this if:

✅ You don’t want to sacrifice distance. The G440 LST ranked seventh overall in total distance..

✅ You value forgiveness in a low-spin head. Even though it’s built for lower spin, it’s still highly rated for shot-to-shot consistency.

Don’t buy this if:

❌ You dislike visible Turbulators. PING’s signature crown design isn’t everyone’s favorite.

❌ You prefer a strong draw-biased driver. The G440 LST is not built specifically for slicers.

PING G440 SFT

“SFT” stands for “Straight Flight Technology” and the G440 SFT lives up to that name. It was one of the most accurate drivers in the 2025 test with strong fairway and playable-shot percentages.

However, there’s a trade-off.

The G440 SFT does not rank as well from a distance perspective. The good news is that it’s just a few yards so if accuracy is what really matters to you, then the SFT could be a great choice.

Buy this if:

✅ You want help hitting it straighter. Good for players fighting a slice or inconsistent direction.

✅ You need more stability and launch. The SFT provides a higher launch and enough spin to keep shots in the air for longer carry.

Don’t buy this if:

❌ You need an ultra-low spin profile. The SFT is built more for directional help than spin reduction.

❌ You crave maximum distance. The G440 SFT loses a few yards compared to the LST.

PING G440 Max

The G440 MAX didn’t fare as well as the LST and SFT, ranking in the lower half of our 2025 driver test. The biggest issues with the G440 Max were distance and forgiveness. It may be considered the standard model from PING but you’ll probably want to at least consider the other G440 models or the MAX 10K.

Buy this if:

✅ You prefer a classic “MAX” head shape. Some golfers like the rounder, slightly larger look at address.

Don’t buy this if:

❌ You need every yard of distance. The G440 MAX can lag behind competing models in pure yardage.

❌ You want best-in-class forgiveness. While not unforgiving, it lags behind the G440 LST and SFT.

What about older PING models?

The results of the best golf driver testing of 2025 are not the only options you have if you want a PING driver. It takes PING a little while to drop the pricing on previous releases so keep that in mind. If you are finding a PING driver for $399 or less, it’s probably a really good price.

Here are some of the other older PING driver models still available:

Project X Denali Red (50 & 60 Series): Higher-launching shaft in various flexes (5.5, 6.0, 6.5). A good fit for players who need more height without sacrificing stability. Which PING driver is best for you?

The best way to determine which PING driver is best for your game is to go for a fitting. However, if you want a general idea as to which models you should try, here are some helpful tips:

Best overall: Go with the PING G430 MAX 10K for top-tier distance, accuracy and forgiveness. It outperformed the entire G440 lineup in our 2025 test.

Best for distance with consistency: Try the PING G440 LST — the longest and highest-rated PING G440 model, finishing third overall.

Best for accuracy/slice correction: The PING G440 SFT adds forgiveness and a touch of draw bias, making it ideal for players who struggle with direction.

Best on a budget: Consider older PING G430 models, now available for around $399 with proven results from last year’s test.
