Today, PING announced a new limited-edition collection of golf goods in collaboration with Hideoki Bespoke, maker of fine menswear and custom clothing. The limited capsule consists of high-end apparel and accessories designed to pay homage to golf’s rich history.
The PING x Hideoki Collection is a far departure from the norm — especially for PING.
Known for being straight-laced PING is here to show the world that their take on “different” is pretty darn cool. Is it for everyone? No. Many of you may scroll the product pages wondering why the heck PING would even do something like this.
Even still, the collaboration is a large step off the beaten path for a brand that’s been hesitant to stray from it. Will this be the start of a new fashion-infused trend? Only time will tell. You certainly don’t need any of these items to play a round of golf, but if you’re intrigued by edgy luxury you’ll want to take a look.

If you gave me five guesses as to who conjured up this luxury menswear collection, there’s no way I would have guessed PING.
Akie Iwai of Japan shot a 9-under 63 to lead the first round of the LPGA's Toto Japan Classic, while three other Japanese players -- Nasa Hataoka, Yuna Nishimura and Mone Inami -- were a stroke back after rounds of 64.
MyGolfSpy Experiences is nothing if not consistent. The best golf buddy trip, it says here, is the next one.
And if the next one should take you about 80 miles north of Las Vegas to Mesquite, Nev., you will want to check out one of the more decorated public resort courses opened this century: Wolf Creek.
If you scan any online reviews of Wolf Creek, you’ll find adjectives like iconic, stunning and breathtaking. All of those apply, primarily to the incredible vistas. You’ll take a ton of pictures while you’re there and you’ll need to. Sadly, you probably won’t remember a lot of the holes within a few days of leaving.
Don’t get me wrong, Wolf Creek is spectacular. You’ll find yourself muttering “Wow!” dozens of times. But that’s mostly due to the views. The course itself is a lot like that leftover Halloween candy you’ve been chomping on the last couple of days. Wolf Creek is tasty, enjoyable and fun but once you’re done, you’ll remember the views more than the actual golf.
In Halloween candy terms, the best holes are Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups but at least half of them are Almond Joys or, worse, Raisinettes.
There’s a lot of cool gear in the golf equipment world that doesn’t always fit neatly into Most Wanted Tests or Buyer’s Guides. You still want to know how it performs. In our We Tried It series, we put gear to the test and let you know if it works as advertised.
What We Tried: The ProSENDR. It is one of the few “3-in-1” golf training aids on the market. Renowned instructors Sean Foley and David Woods partnered to create this dynamic training aid.
Who Tried It: Phillip. Director of Hard Goods Testing and proponent of getting the right golf clubs in your hands or, in this case, a new piece of golf equipment that may help you.
The ProSENDR
With every golf training aid release, the words “best ever” are lurking in the marketing blurb. The hype and excitement are amped up when industry-leading instructors create, promote and/or support a new product. To enhance the appeal, PGA TOUR players such as Cameron Champ, Alex Cejka, Mike Weir, Rory McIlroy and Cameron Smith have given their approval or have been seen using the latest golf training aid, the ProSENDR.
The ProSENDR’s goal is to educate and train golfers on the importance of using their hands and wrists during the swing. Additionally, it provides a “feel” for your wrist conditions throughout the swing. This “feel” trains the brain and potentially creates muscle memory.
Today, Odyssey Golf unveiled their Ai-ONE and Ai-ONE Milled putter lines. Yes, I, too, had to make sure it was November and not January. Usually, we don’t see this type of significant release until the PGA Show in January.
Well, our calendars are correct. Odyssey is releasing two new putter lines in November.
The real story of this release is not the new date but rather the incorporation of new artificial intelligence technology. Though I am occasionally prone to putter hyperbole, this is not one of those times.
What Odyssey has incorporated into their new Ai-ONE and Ai-ONE Milled putters is the most significant putter performance technology of the decade. Now that they have done this, it will be nearly impossible for them to make putters like they did in the past.
Yes, it’s that big of a deal.

Why are you making golf so difficult for yourself? You learned to throw a ball well before you picked up your first golf club. If you consider the elbow bend required to windup and throw a ball, you will realize that this is the same motion that your trailing right arm makes when you throw a sidearm baseball. Yes, your hand comes over the top when you throw a baseball, but the same power is there when you throw a side-arm pitch. Shouldn’t you be able to generate more power when you swing a driver as if you are throwing a side-arm pitch with your right arm?
Just use your normal body movement to generate more power. If you are right-handed, you have thrown a ball with your right arm hundreds if not thousands of times. That motion is the only motion that you need to generate more speed. Tiger is naturally right-handed and he only thinks about throwing his RIGHT wrist to release his DRIVER through the ball as fast as he can.
I’m naturally left handed in every thing that I do except playing golf. [Right-handed clubs were the only clubs in the attic when I was younger. So I had no choice but to learn to swing with those old right-hand clubs.] Now that I have learned to swing without coming over the top, I finally understand the importance of building speed and power with my trailing weaker right arm.
Using my right arm to generate power in my golf swing was a major physical change for my body and mind. Fortunately, I have also learned to use my right arm to make single handed shots in tennis and pickleball. If you are naturally right-handed you really should enjoy the natural feeling of generating power with your right “throwing arm” for your golf swing.
Treasure the next moment that you pick up your driver and think about generating more power and swing speed with your right arm. Use your side-arm throwing action to generate that power. You now have a new perspective when you deliver powerful drives. Let your trailing arm shallow in your backswing and take over the power of your swing up the slot on your target line.
