The Problem
Unfortunately, I lost (or never received) an umbrella holder for my push cart. I needed something that was easily attached to my cart so I could use a golf umbrella no matter what the weather.
The Solution:
Introducing a versatile Universal Golf Cart Umbrella Holder designed for golf carts. This adjustable holder features an umbrella tightening screw and a multi-piece, two-screw clasp for easy attachment to any cart, allowing for optimal use in various positions.
How I Found It:
I stumbled upon this product on Temu but found the same item available on Amazon. Priced at a mere $7, there are other options to choose from at different price points. However, this seemed to have decent reviews: 3.4 out of five stars on 372 reviews. The same umbrella holder is sold from other companies and was sixth on Amazon’s “best sellers” ranking for golf umbrella holders. My expectations were not high. I simply wanted a practical solution to use an umbrella on the golf course. Unfortunately, I do not have a lot of time for full rounds so when I get the chance, I do, regardless of the weather.
How it works (or didn’t):
As for the Universal Golf Cart Umbrella Holder’s performance, it does the job. It attached seamlessly to my Clicgear cart’s handlebar, thanks to an additional separator that accommodates different bar sizes. The wide umbrella slot and tightening screw ensured both my umbrellas fit securely, while the angle adjustment allowed me to position the umbrella just the way I wanted. The final part I did like, again, was the angle adjustment which allowed me to fold the umbrella holder over for placement into the car, allowing me to keep it on the cart versus having to remove it after each round.
That leads me nicely into what I didn’t like or simply didn’t work for me with the golf umbrella holder. While the holder can attach to most bars and cart parts, it requires extremely tight screws to prevent wobbling or sliding which can be annoying if you want to remove and reattach it frequently. Additionally, the plastic pieces where it attaches to the cart have sharp edges that can be uncomfortable if placed in the wrong spot.
There is a lot of cool gear in the golf equipment world that doesn’t always fit neatly into Most Wanted Tests or Buyer’s Guides. You still want to know how it performs. In our We Tried It series, we put gear to the test and let you know if it works as advertised.
What We Tried:
Jordan ADG 4 spikeless golf shoes. The Jordan ADG 4 is one of the few golf shoes produced by NIKE/Jordan Brand that’s designed specifically for golf. Most of the Swoosh’s other golf silhouettes are lifestyle models-turned golf shoes.
How much thought did Jordan put into the ADG 4? Let’s find out.
Who Tried It:
Connor. Director of Soft Goods Testing and resident sneakerhead. I believe golf is better with a pair of cool shoes and comfortable joggers. Air Jordan fanboy with some (albeit a small amount) hope that the ADG 4 is decent.

What’s true about the Golfshot Golf GPS app is probably true of several dozen other golf GPS apps: blink and you’ll miss something new, cool and, more than likely, pretty useful.
Golf GPS app technology is moving forward at a bold and impressive pace. What separates the best apps from the madding crowd is, more often than not, features found only behind the paywall. That’s true of Golfshot as well.
In its most recent update, Golfshot is offering an easy-to-use Strokes Gained metric. If you’re already a Golfshot user, it probably caught you by surprise.
Golfshot Golf GPS App: Auto Strokes Gained
“This all started two years ago with the introduction of Auto Shot Tracking,” says Golfshot GM and Executive Vice President Alex Flores. “Our ability to collect data automatically on the course through an Apple watch makes it possible.”
Automatic shot detection and tracking primarily have been the domain of Arccos and Shot Scope. Traditionally, shot tracking requires a sensor in the butt end of the club. Then either a watch or some other wearable detects an impact and plots that location using GPS. The system then picks up your next shot, records the data and provides you with a shot-by-shot snapshot of your round.
