FootJoy HyperFlex Carbon Wide Golf Shoe Review

There is a lot of cool gear in the golf world that doesn’t always fit into Most Wanted Tests or Buyer’s Guides. You still want to know how it performs. In our We Tried It series, we put gear to the test and let you know if it works as advertised.

What We Tried: FootJoy Hyperflex Carbon Wide Golf Shoes

Your Thick Kick Tester

Dave Wolfe– Though I mainly talk about putters, I also have feet so wide that I will never accidentally step through a sewer grate.

Do Footjoy Hyperflex Carbon Golf Shoes bring joy for wide feet?

Greetings, big-footed brethren. Sisteren, too, I suppose as some of you also have “enhanced” foot widths. Although I am specifically reviewing the men’s version of the HyperFlex Carbon shoe, FootJoy also makes the women’s HyperFlex in wide widths so some of my findings should apply to you as well.

(I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention that the spectacular white/purple women’s color scheme should also be available in men’s models.)

Anyway, this is the second FootJoy model I have crammed my fat foot into this year. You may remember the two pairs of custom MyJoys that I reviewed a few weeks back. Wait, if that was two pairs, maybe the FootJoy HyperFlex Carbon wide golf shoes are my third pair of wide shoes tested. Oh, math, how adoringly confusing you are.

Brian Harman Wins The Open Championship

One more good quality of the holes at Hoylake deserves a word of mention; it has been called by Mr. Low their “indestructibleness.” By this most useful, if inelegant word, he means that they are good whether played with or against the wind, and that is very high praise, particularly as there are few courses on which a change of wind more completely alters the character of each individual hole. Blessed indeed is the hole which can keep its good character whichever way the wind is blowing. BERNARD DARWIN
