PGA Tour files to keep LIV golfers out of FedEx

The PGA Tour has asked a federal judge to deny a temporary restraining order to three of its suspended members who are seeking to participate in the FedEx Cup playoffs.

New Fujikura Ventus TR Black and TR Red

Fujikura is adding two shafts to the Ventus line: TR Black and TR Red.The TR models feature increased torsional stiffness in the handle section.MSPR is $350.

The Fujikura Ventus shaft family is getting two new siblings—TR Black and TR Red. That brings the total number of Ventus kith and kin to six. In 2019, Fujikura launched Ventus Blue. Shortly thereafter, it added Ventus Black and Ventus Red.

Side Note: Three years for a flagship shaft is a long tenure. The fact that it was more popular at retail and on Tour in its second year is equally abnormal. The Fujikura Ventus is the reigning heavyweight champion of the shaft world. Instead of a gaudy belt, it boasts retail sales figures and Tour usage stats that border on the absurd. It’s not abnormal to see +/- 25 percent of players in PGA TOUR and PGA TOUR Champions with some version of Ventus in the driver.

At times, it seems like it would be reasonable to suggest that Fujikura Ventus is the stock shaft of the PGA TOUR. Surely, I jest.

OK, moving on. Earlier this year, Fujikura introduced Ventus Blue TR which maintained the VeloCore architecture of the Ventus Blue profile but with an additional layer of spread tow of ultra-stiff carbon fiber in the mid-handle section. With TR Black and TR Red, Fujikura applied the same materials as it did with Ventus Blue TR, with the same intention: to lower launch and spin by increasing the torsional stiffness “where golfers need it most” according to Fujikura.

Spy Kicks: The Best Golf Shoes at the Wyndham Championship

The Best Golf Shoes at the Wyndham Championship

The 2021-2022 PGA Tour season is winding down, but the golf shoe game is just starting to heat up! This week my golf shoe endeavors took me (virtually) to the Wyndham Championship, where a few players caught my attention right from the jump.

Let’s just say I was very impressed with the amount of note-worthy shoes this week considering the strength of the field. If it were up to me, each of the golfers on this list would earn enough Fedex Cup points for their shoes alone to put them into the the Top-125.

Maybe one day I’ll have that kind of pull. I need some Tour guy giving out post-round interviews about how he was more worried about making the Spy Kicks top 5 instead of actually playing decent golf!

Here are the best golf shoes I saw this week at the Wyndham Championship in North Carolina.

Harold Varner III in the French Blue Air Jordan 12 Low G

Technically we can call the French Blue Air Jordan 12 Low G and unreleased shoe because it’s not yet available at retail. The keyword being “yet.” In all of my research my findings have been consistent: this shoe will most likely get a general release to the public on August 12 with a retail price of $220. Sneakerheads rejoice! Anytime a shoe this sweet makes its way to retail, you know the Golf Gods are blessing us for some reason or another.

Women's Open Primed For A Compelling Weekend

The grounds on which golf is played are called links being the barren, sandy soil from which the sea has retired in recent geological times. In their natural state links are covered with long, rank, bent grass and gorse…links are too barren for cultivation; but sheep rabbits, geese and professionals pick up a precarious livelihood on them. 2022 Soft Goods Survey

With the end of the golfing season fast approaching, we wanted to get a grasp on how and what consumers buy, ready for next season. So our goal is to take a deeper dive into why and what consumers buy to help us adjust protocols and learn about industry trends.

Plus, the whole reason why MyGolfSpy exist’s is to help you, the consumer.

Take the Survey

The survey should take less than 10 minutes. Because of the level of detail, you may be asked about a product you don’t own. If that happens, simply select the None option and move on the the next question.
