Who is Ghost Golf?
Premium bags are nothing new. Ghost Golf, founded in 2022, started out as a “humble towel company,” according to founder Anand Nalla, with their patented magnetic towel as their first product. He had visions of something larger, however, which ultimately led to the birth of their Anyday golf bag. With an ever-expanding lineup, Ghost Golf looks to make a significant impact by providing premium quality products that have an elite level of attention to detail.
The Testing Opportunity
Our testers had the privilege of testing Ghost Golf’s Anyday bag. Feature-rich with incredible attention to detail, the Anyday boasts multiple cooler pockets, two velour-lined valuables pockets, a magnetic rangefinder pocket, large ball pocket with a removable and customizable panel and symmetrical styling to accommodate golfers who prefer to carry their clubs in either orientation. The Anyday is offered in both 14- and seven-way tops and with seven colorways. After being named the best premium stand bag in our 2024 testing, would it live up to the hype?
First Impressions
First impressions have a lasting impact on whether we will like the product. If a golf bag doesn’t look appealing, we most likely are passing it by. Would our testers be impressed with the Anyday bag or left wanting more?
Cnosil: “My initial impression of the bag was WOW this is nice; even my wife commented that the bag looked really nice. The overall quality of the bag is high and premium.”
Arodrig29: “It reminds me of one of those crazy expensive purses my wife has shown me at these Italian boutique stores. From the stitching to the incredibly soft exterior material, to the softest velvet I have ever laid my hands on, no detail was left undone.
The buttons and straps have the Ghost golf logo printed on them. The straps all have the logo stitched on them. Even the handle, which I dig into with detail during the test process, is quilted for comfort when carrying the bag. As I mentioned, all details were thought of when creating this premium bag.”
Testers all agreed the Anyday bag from Ghost Golf knocks the ball out of the park when it comes to aesthetics. From quality stitching to premium materials, no detail was too small or overlooked.
On-Course Testing
Each piece of equipment we own needs to perform on the course, and a golf bag is no exception. Does it have enough pocket space to carry your gear? Are the shoulder straps comfortable enough to prevent fatigue if you carry while you walk? Do the legs deploy with ease when setting the bag down? And last, but absolutely not least, how easy is it to remove and replace clubs during your round?
Samuel09152: “My honest opinion is that this bag is as good on course as it looks… It was very walkable and fit perfectly on my pushcart, and the straps for walking are amazing!..The stand components of this bag could not be better. The hidden lever to make the carbon fiber legs fold out is easy to use and fits seamlessly into lines of the bag. Huge upgrades from my previous bag.”
Shlax: “Getting this bag made me fall back in love with carrying my clubs mainly because it’s nowhere near a hassle like I remembered in the past. The harness provides stability and the various adjustability features ensure that fit and comfort are up to your standards…Everything is PREMIUM. It is evident that quality-control is a priority for Ghost Golf and the finished product is a testament to the manufacturing process. I am confident that this bag will last a long time.”
What About Pockets?
It is worth mentioning, however, that nearly all testers agreed that the bag could benefit from a full-length pocket on the side. While the ambidextrous nature of the bag makes carrying a breeze for your preference to carry on either side, storage could be a bit tight. None of the testers saw this as a major drawback and found space to be enough for what they needed but it is worth considering if you are someone who takes full advantage of a full-length pocket.
Is the Anyday Bag the Ultimate Stand Bag?
A premium price tag should come with premium quality and performance. Quality is, without a doubt, an area that Ghost Golf delivered on. These bags scream “high-end” from a visual standpoint with performance features to boot. However, did the bag do enough to stay in the long-term plans of our testers?
Shlax: “It’s no surprise to anyone that I elected to keep this bag! As a matter of fact, I parted ways with my old bag, which was a very good Ogio that I had for just over 2 years, the very next week after carrying my clubs for the first time as part of the testing period!”
Arodrig29: “The bag is worth every penny. Especially, if you are the type of golfer that walks and carries and wants the best of the best. Also, if you want to get constant attention. I am yet to get out on course or even the range without at least one person asking about the bag or catching someone eyeing the Ghost bag. I will absolutely be gaming the beautiful bag.”
Samuel09152: “Compared to my other bag, which does not have what I considered disappointments, this bag is more than an upgrade. IT WILL BE PLAYED!”
Closing Thoughts
As you can see, for three of our four testers, the answer was a resounding yes. Having said that, Cnosil had this comment from a style perspective:
“The real question would be would I purchase this bag when I need a new bag? The answer to that question would be no. This bag is really designed for someone that is a bit more stylish than myself. The younger trendy early 20’s age group seems to be the OEMs target marker based on their marketing and social media presence. I am in my late 50s and more of a khaki shorts and basic polo shirt kind of person. I am also a bargain shopper that typically purchases a prior season’s model to save money.”
As someone in their mid 30s who admittedly prioritizes style on the course and keeping up with current trends, I do think his assessment is fair. Ghost Golf’s Anyday bag is an attention getter, it is bold and I love it. Turns out, our testers did, too, with scores of 86, 96, 92.5 and 98 out of 100.
