G/FORE Golf Shoes: Which Pair is Right For You?

G/FORE Golf Shoes: Which Pair is Right For You?

Having a hard time finding a golf shoe that incorporates style, tradition, modern appeal and performance? G/FORE golf shoes could be a solution. G/Fore makes things simple with a few core styles but features lots of different colors and designs.

Here’s our take on which G/FORE golf shoes could be right for you.

What are G/FORE Golf Shoes?

GFORE golf shoes

G/FORE golf shoes started in California more than 10 years ago. The idea was to create a more modern design that brought a young and fresh look to the golf course. At the same time, G/FORE aimed to ensure that golf’s traditions and history were not ignored.

As a result, G/FORE shoes look like “old meets new.” In addition, the design features are more than just fashion—the performance elements stand out, too.

What makes G/FORE Golf Shoes unique?

All G/FORE golf shoes feature a massaging insole. The insole is antimicrobial, removable and washable. As you walk the course, your foot should feel as though it’s being massaged, always a good choice for the walker.

Benefits of G/FORE Golf Shoes

The G/FORE golf shoes have appeared on the PGA TOUR, with players like Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson having worn them at times. Some of the features that stand out includes:

Breathability without sacrificing waterproof technology  Odor-inhibiting features Removable massaging insole (machine-washable) Premium leather construction  Superior comfort and consistent fit throughout the line  A wide range of colors and patterns  Optimal traction patterns to increase stability  Good performance in wet conditions

G/FORE Golf Shoes for 2023

G/FORE sticks to a core group of styles but there are many options for color, design and custom features. When you find the core product that works for you, you can play around with color and design.

We tested the MG4+ as part of our 2022 Best Spikeless Golf Shoes and analyzed some of the other styles through the years. Back in 2016, when G/FORE made high tops for the Masters, somebody needed to look closer!

G.112

The G/FORE G.112 is an all-new model for 2023. Available for both men and women, this spikeless G/FORE golf shoe sure is stylish. The synthetic leather upper provides waterproofing, and the wrap-around outsole adds to the overall lateral stability of the shoe.

GALLIVANTOR

The G/FORE GALLIVANTOR is the signature model from G/FORE, with waterproof full-grain leather construction and unique and clean-looking designs. Inside the shoe, you will find the signature removable footbed for a comfortable walk around the golf course.

From a comfort standpoint, we like the fully padded interior but the antimicrobial mesh lining is the true benefit. If you don’t want your foot to hurt or smell at the end of a round, the GALLIVANTOR is one to try.

MG4+

The MG4+ from G/FORE was tested as part of our 2022 Best Spikeless Golf Shoes test. Although we can’t say this was the best spikeless out there (scoring 87/100), it did come in with strong results in the elements category, meaning it holds up well when the course is wet.

With the MG4+, the waterproof upper allows for protection from water all the way around the shoe. Removable and washable insoles help ensure a better, more comfortable fit. This is a spikeless shoe with a Sawtooth Traction pattern to give a little extra grab on those faster swings.

G/DRIVE

The G/DRIVE is a technologically advanced shoe but only available in men’s. Your options for design and color here are a bit limited with just two G/DRIVE options (Twilight, Cielo).

G/DRIVE is a waterproof golf shoe with a Cartridge Dial System (similar to BOA technology). If you feel like you are constantly tying and untying your shoes to get the right fit, the G/DRIVE is the answer.

In addition, a Triple Density Foam Cushioned Footbed controls both odor and offers comfort while providing extra stability. The combination of breathability, comfort and perfect fit makes the G/DRIVE stand out.

MG4X2

Gfore cross trainer/golf shoes

The MG4X2 is a cross-trainer for on and off the golf course. You will have a hard time picking out which pattern you want here as here are some unique options. This is not waterproof. Instead, it has a breathable Ripstop material incorporated into the design.

If you are a player who uses one type of shoe for dry days and another for wet days, this one would be for the latter. The 360-degree molded heel cup keeps your heel in place during the swing, ensuring you can utilize those ground forces.

If you don’t want to change your shoes before or after golf, the MG4 X2 is your best choice.

DURF

G/FORE set out to bridge the gap between street shoes and golf shoes and it’s most evident in the DURF model. At first glance, you may not know this is a golf shoe and that’s what players like about it.

G/FORE included many of the same impressive features like waterproof leather, an antimicrobial footbed and a Bespoke Clean Design with G/ROUND Control Technology. The G/FORE DURF may look like a street shoe but it can hold its own on the golf course.

G/FORE Golf Shoes for Men and Women

G/FORE manufactures golf shoes for both men and women. Remember that each style has several color options and patterns within it.
