KYOEI Limited Edition Wedge Set

Today, we have something truly special for you: a very limited set of KYOEI wedges produced in a completely unique way. These wedges were made with a focus on quality and precision.

KYOEI Golf aimed to create a wedge that spared no expense, making them as special as possible. They sought out S15C, the softest forged carbon used for golf clubs in Japan, and selected the grinder by name. They then requested CNC milling for the face, grooves, and all logos. CNC milling is very expensive in Japan, especially for small production runs like these KYOEI Limited Wedges. The extra millwork, compared to stamped grooves, enhances spin and provides a flatter face for improved consistency in your short game.

These wedges were produced in a special factory in Japan called ST, which handles pro grinding for both large and small brands based on tour player requests. Only 30 sets of 50/54/58 degree lofts were produced, resulting in fewer than 100 pieces in existence. These wedges will not be made again. They were quite expensive and took about 7-8 months to receive after ordering them from the factory. However, the end result is stunning: you get an extremely buttery feel with loads of spin and an unmatched aesthetic.

In Japan, there is a texture applied on the grinding wheel called Arakenma, featuring a grain-like texture originally made famous by Yururi’s raw Gekku wedge. KYOEI has adopted this texture and added their Kurozome black dye finish, a hand-applied finish that retains 100% of the carbon steel’s feel while providing some protection from wear and rust.

It’s important to note that these wedges will still wear and develop a patina over time. However, with proper care—drying them after each round and occasionally applying a spray of oil—you are in for a treat. The impact zones, such as the face and sole, will fade to a beautiful silver steel color, while the remainder of the head retains its matte black style.

These wedges are overkill in every way, from the material to the milling and especially the hand grinding at the ST factory in Himeji. The end result is unreal; once you hold one of these in your hand, you begin to understand that the little white ball is about to be hit by something very special.

The loft/bounce configurations are 50/8, 54/10, and 58/12, making them ideal for plush conditions. These wedges are compact with minimal offset in the 50-degree and none in the 54/58 degrees. The 50-degree wedge has the ideal grind for a full shot, while the 54-degree functions as a typical sand wedge, and the 58-degree serves as your lob wedge. These are simple, pure quality wedges—nothing like them exists on the market, made 100% in Japan from a heavy blank with all the bells and whistles.

We offer heads-only or full custom builds. These would look stunning in custom smoked copper as well. Now shipping and available for purchase at www.tourspecgolf.com.
