What an incredible month February was for the MyGolfSpy Forum! Even though (or maybe because) conditions for many are less than ideal for golfing, the MyGolfSpy Forum has never been busier! We are excited to bring you our MyGolfSpy Forum Highlights: February 2024 Edition to catch you up on all you may have missed!
The Forum staff were thrilled to see a lot of new names on the Forum and enjoy lively conversations on all topics golf and more throughout the month.
MyGolfSpy Forum Virtual Tour (VCT)
After a long season of battling, the top 32 golfers from the VCT were named and are headed into a fun two-person matchplay event to end the season.
Individual banner awards will be named for those who claimed the overall season prizes for most net birdies or better, longest drive of the season and overall winners for first, second and third place.
Next the pairings are still being sorted as we enter the final week for submitting scoring. Then the fun begins as pairings are announced and the matches are set!
About The Virtual Tour
The Virtual Tour is open to any MyGolfSpy Forum member who wants to submit their score. Afterwards scores can be posted from normal on-course rounds as well as simulator rounds to make sure anyone who wants to be involved can be.
Weekly banners are awarded for a variety of categories as members engage in friendly competition as part of the year-round tour.
Stay tuned as we look to further update and adapt the VCT to make it bigger and better for everyone in Season 3!
Popular Golfing Threads
It is always nice to see a good range of threads take off throughout the course of the year. February was no different as the ongoing debate about whether golfers deserve free relief from fairway divots raged on, thanks to MyGolfSpy staff writer Sean Fairholm.
Equipment discussions also took center stage, with members sharing their go-to putter and what wedges they are currently using. Of course, the golf ball rollback and Sun Day Red apparel topics were atop several discussion lists. Nevertheless, many views and opinions were shared within these threads, giving readers added perspective on what fellow golfers are thinking. Maybe the hottest topic of the month came late in February with “What is your golf pet peeve?” Slow play? Unlevel tee boxes? Bumpy greens? Or whatever else comes to mind? Members were not shy about telling the community what irks them when golfing!
Popular Non-Golfing Threads
Formula 1 is back and with it we saw racing fans jump into this thread, making speculations before the first race took place. Others who enjoy the food side of life added recipes, shared photos and discussed their go-to meal in the cooking thread.
Community Calls
A fun month of community calls and discussions was wrapped up by a live Q&A with Andy from Ghost Golf. You can watch or listen to the full recording here on the Forum.
Stay tuned as we introduce more guests from the golfing industry in March and beyond. Want to get to ask industry specialists and experts questions? Join every Thursday at 4 p.m. Eastern to get your questions answered.
Member Testing
February started off with a bang with the TaylorMade Qi10 drivers being announced as the first test of the season. This was the first time TaylorMade has been involved in a member test which they followed up with another opportunity for their new TP5 and TP5X golf balls. Testers for both the drivers and golf balls have now been announced.
Furthermore, Edel, Maxfli, Haywood, Star Grips and TPT golf shafts also offered testing opportunities to our members in February.
Check back to the forum every Thursday for a new testing opportunity. We will announce our selected testers every Tuesday.
Want to be a tester for the MyGolfSpy Forum? It is easy. All you need to do is register. If you want to increase your chances, we made a full guide on how to be a tester here!
