MyGolfSpy Random WITB: Volume 3

Each week, we continue to highlight a WITB (What’s In The Bag) from a MyGolfSpy Forum member. If you have an interesting bag setup or want to be featured, share your WITB in the Forum thread.

This week, we feature poprocksncoke, who has a mix of classic and modern gear in his bag. His selection of clubs shows a preference for tried-and-true equipment, with some newer additions influenced by the MyGolfSpy community.

Let’s take a look inside his bag:

Driver: Taylormade SLDR

About the club: Several years ago, poprocksncoke switched to the SLDR after trying a playing partner’s club and deciding it was a better fit than his previous Taylormade R11s. Originally equipped with an Oban Kiyoshi HB shaft, he recently switched to a Fujikura Ventus Velocore+ Red shaft, following feedback from a MyGolfSpy member review thread. The change has provided a higher ball flight, which has been a welcome adjustment.

3-Wood: Taylormade R11s

About the club: This club was a Christmas gift from his wife after he borrowed his dad’s R11s 3-wood. The club has stayed in his bag ever since, proving its reliability over the years.

2 Iron: Lynx Black Cat Tour

About the club: The oldest club in his bag, the Lynx Black Cat Tour 2 iron has been a long-time companion. Although it doesn’t see much action, it’s a trusted option when he needs to hit a low shot or feels particularly brave.

Irons (4-PW): Callaway Apex Pro 16

About the clubs: These irons have been in his bag since 2017, replacing a set of Mizunos. While he briefly switched to Hogan Fort Worth irons for a MyGolfSpy Forum review, he ultimately returned to the Apex Pros for their superior forgiveness, making them too valuable to give up.

Wedges: RIVL 52° and 58°

About the clubs: His most recent additions, these RIVL wedges replaced a set of aging Cleveland wedges. Despite being new to the bag, they’ve quickly earned his approval with their feel and performance.

Putter: Evnroll EV 5.3 Duo

About the club: After hearing the buzz on MyGolfSpy about Evnroll putters, he was fortunate to be selected to review the EV 5.3 Duo last year. It didn’t disappoint and has earned a permanent spot in his bag, living up to all the hype.

MyGolfSpy-Inspired gear

Additional items: Poprocksncoke’s bag also includes a few items inspired by the MyGolfSpy community:

Golf Ball: Maxfli Tours, discovered through MGS, are his go-to for their unbeatable value. Sunglasses: Sundog The Caddy TrueBlue sunglasses, another MGS-inspired purchase. Launch Monitor: Swing Caddie 2+, a recent addition providing valuable swing data, chosen after extensive MGS research.

Summary

Poprocksncoke’s WITB showcases a blend of personal preference and community influence. His selection reflects a balance between classic, reliable gear and carefully considered new additions that enhance his game.
