NIKE Golf Shoes Struggled in Our Testing – Here’s a Better Option

NIKE Golf Shoes Struggled in Our Testing – Here’s a Better Option

We tested two NIKE golf shoes this year, the NIKE Infinity G NN Spikeless and the NIKE Infinity Tour 2 Spiked, and both finished in the bottom half of our rankings. They struggled in key performance areas like traction, stability and comfort. If you’ve been a loyal NIKE fan and are considering a new pair this season, here’s what you can expect from their current lineup and a few higher-performing alternatives worth a look.

🔻 NIKE Infinity G NN (Spikeless)

The NIKE Infinity G NN finished second to last in our testing with a score of 87.55. It had one of the lowest stability scores in the entire spikeless test pool. Waterproofing was about average and the overall comfort just wasn’t there.

One thing the NIKE Infinity G NN have going for them is the price. At $75, they are fairly priced but you’ll be sacrificing performance to save money. Serious golfers wouldn’t buy this shoe.

🔻 NIKE Infinity Tour 2 (Spiked)

The NIKE Infinity Tour 2 was second-to-last in our spiked testing with a score of 89. While traction on the Infinity Tour 2 wasn’t terrible, comfort and stability fell behind.

Similar to the spikeless NIKE, the stability is just not there for golfers who want the structure and lockdown needed for faster swings. Despite the “Tour” name and price tag ($170), the Infinity Tour 2 didn’t deliver Tour-level performance.

Three brands to consider as alternatives

If you like the sporty look and performance of a NIKE shoe but want something built more specifically with the golfer in mind, consider PAYNTR, adidas and Under Armour. Here is a spiked and spikeless alternative for each.

PAYNTR

The PAYNTR golf shoes did well in both our best spiked and best spikeless testing. The PAYNTR Eighty-Seven SC earned second place in the spiked test while the Moving Day SC earned third. The shoes are known for their traction and stability. They also have premium foam that keeps the feet locked in.

For spikeless models, the All Day SC was a top choice. Its balanced feel works for walking 18 or even 36 holes. Testers also noted that the shoes were comfortable right out of the box.

PAYNTR Eighty-Seven SC

✅ “Tour-level” traction and stability with premium comfort and materials throughout.
❌ Runs snug and comes at a premium price—try before you buy, especially if you have wide feet.

PAYNTR All Day SC

✅ Comfortable for walking 18 or 36 holes, with spikeless traction that rivals cleated shoes.
❌ Thicker midsole limits ground feel.

adidas

The adidas adizero ZG and the adidas TOUR360 24 were two top models from adidas. They still have that sporty look and the performance is there to back it up. The TOUR360 24 won the best spiked golf shoe two years in a row. It has step-in comfort and exceptional stability.

The adizero ZG was one of the most stable spikeless shoes we tested. It has dual-foam construction and a lightweight feel.

adidas TOUR360 24

✅ Premium spiked shoe with standout stability, comfort, and waterproof protection—great for serious players who walk often.
❌ Narrow fit and higher price point.

adidas adizero ZG

✅ Lightweight and impressively stable, making it ideal for golfers who walk.
❌ Runs narrow in the forefoot and lacks that soft, cushy feel some players prefer.

Under Armour

The Under Armour Drive Pro and Drive Pro SL did well in our testing for traction and stability. If you want a great value option with similar styling (but better performance) to NIKE, the Under Armour Drive Fade is perfect.

It was our best-value spiked golf shoe in the 2025 test.

Under Armour Drive Fade

✅ Delivers high-end comfort and traction at a much lower price than premium models.
❌ Runs narrow which could cause fit issues for golfers with wider feet.
