TaylorMade P770 Phantom Black Irons

TaylorMade P770 Phantom Black Irons

It’s been a year (almost) since TaylorMade P770 irons launched, so you know the drill.

To keep it fresh, TaylorMade has added a Phantom Black version of the P770 to the lineup.

The smaller of TaylorMade’s hollow-body players distance irons, the P770 pairs a soft 8620 carbon steel body with a fast 4141 steel face.

Speed and feel are enhanced by the Thru-Slot Speed Pocket and SpeedFoam Air filling, respectively.

About “Black Phantom”

As far as the finish is concerned, Phantom Black is TaylorMade-speak for black PVD. Is it the most durable finish on the planet? Probably not.

Does it look fantastic fresh out the box? Oh, hell yes (he said while wiping a bit of drool from the corner of his mouth).

As is typical for these 2nd-year refreshes, the TaylorMade Phantom Black P770 iron offering comes stock with a black KBS Tour shaft (X,S) to give the irons the desired black-on-black or mudered-out look.

The stock Golf Prize Z-Grip has a bit of gray on it, which, for better or worse, breaks up all the black just a bit.
