The Best Cart Golf Bags of 2023

What’s the solution to this amateur-hour nightmare?
Buy a new cart bag!

Cart Bag Nation … Let’s ride!
Winner – PING DLX
Who is it for?
Those who “ride or die” (you’re not going to walk with this big boy) Someone who values great storage and extra features A golfer who loves to keep their clubs organizedCart Bag Non-Negotiables
Storage
The first thing to consider when looking for a new cart bag is storage. Let’s clear one thing up: “storage” and “pockets” are not synonymous. More pockets do not always translate into more functional storage. The best cart bags don’t just feature a lot of pockets. Each pocket should have a purpose, be easily accessible and make your round better in some way.
There are some pockets you’ll want to prioritize when researching a new bag. At a bare minimum, those would be for a rangefinder, beverages (insulated), balls and apparel.
What’s your most frequently used pocket? The rangefinder pocket is surely high on that list. This is why the magnetic rangefinder pockets on the PING DLX and Titleist Cart 15 are such a luxury. They can be easily opened with one hand and make sliding your rangefinder in and out seamless.
Looking for the most overall storage? You can’t go wrong with the Motocaddy Pro Series or PING DLX. Both feature wide, spacious pockets to hold all of your gear and more.
Best Value Cart Bag - Mizuno LW-C
For those of you ballin' on a budget, the Mizuno LW-C is a great bag that won't break the bank. The LW-C is among the lightest in our test, and features solid dividers and enough storage to get by. While you won't be blown away by its performance, this solid all-a-rounder is easy to recommend at its given price point of $220.
Dividers
Don’t overlook club dividers. The oft-debated question of how many dividers to use is not an easy one to answer. However, our testing has shown some compelling results. While four- or six- way dividers are very popular in golf stand bags, the cart bag category is a different beast altogether. Our top-performing bags both feature 15-way dividers, although both are implemented differently.
For the best overall divider experience, both the PING DLX and OGIO Woode offer great separation of clubs, large putter wells and extremely smooth club pulls (and slams, if you’re into that).
Quiet on the Tee, Please!
Have you heard of the OGIO Silencer? It's so quiet that you probably haven't. The dividers on the Silencer are designed to stop your clubs from rattling (bag chatter, as some call it). Not only will the unique dividers on OGIO Silencer stop your clubs from making noise, but it will also keep them from bumping and scratching one another.
Cart Strap Pass-Through
If a stand bag is only as good as its stand, then a golf cart bag is only as good as its strap pass-through system. This feature is implemented differently across nearly all bags, however, the best cart pass-through systems are easy to use and don’t hinder the use of any pockets.
While it might sound silly, there are a few cart bags that don’t have any cart strap pass-through system. A good strap system keeps your bag secure and safe.
The best pass-through systems are on the Sun Mountain C-130 and PING DLX.
Best Cart Bag for Storage - Motocaddy Pro Series
Looking for the best cart bag for storage? The Motocaddy Pro Series cart bag has some serious storage capabilities. In addition to its cavernous pockets, the Motocaddy Pro Series features great exterior padding to keep your valuables protected.

FREE FITTINGEXPERT TIP - Well, Well, Well...
If you play a putter with a particularly large or oversized grip, it's in your best interest to use a bag with a dedicated putter well. A good putter well can elongate the life of your grip and ensure your precious putter stays pristine.
More Tips
Not all cooler pockets are created equal. The PING Pioneer features built-in drains to keep your bag from becoming a sticky mess. While weight shouldn’t be the No. 1 priority when choosing a golf cart bag, it shouldn’t be overlooked. Certainly, you need something that can be easily moved from your car to the cart and vice versa. The lightest bags in our test are the Mizuno LW-C and the Izzo Ultra-Lite. If you’re a fan of oversized grips, you need a bag with spacious dividers which might dictate stepping away from the traditional 14-way divider setup. The five-way top on the Stitch SL has ample room for your clubs but lacks the dedicated putter well that others offer. A little rain never hurt anyone, right? Wrong. If you play in a rainy climate, chances are you need a good waterproof option. The COBRA UltraDry Pro and Sun Mountain H2NO Lite are the best because they still have enough storage and useable pockets without making the bag permeable. Find a color that speaks to you. Style isn’t something we can test for but most of the golf cart bags in our test are offered in a plethora of designs and colors. There really is something for everyone. How We Test

Best Cart Bags of 2022 – FAQ
Q: Which golf cart bag is the best?
A: The best cart golf bag in 2023 is the PING DLX. Other notable performers are the PING Pioneer, Sun Mountain C-130, PING Traverse and the Callaway ORG14.
Q: Do I need an insulated pocket?
A: If you want to keep your drinks cool on the course, it’s an absolute must.
Q: Are cart bags worth it?
A: Absolutely, if you prefer to ride rather than walk. As opposed to a stand bag, a cart bag generally offers better storage, a secure cart strap pass-through system and a more robust structure.
Q: Should I buy a bag from one of the big equipment brands?
A: While it’s true the top performers in our tests often come from names you know, many equipment OEMs source their bags from third parties like Sun Mountain and Vessel. However, rarely do these white-label offerings match the performance of the top bags in the supplier’s own lineup.
Q: Why do cart golf bags generally have 15 dividers?
A: Cart bags generally have more dividers than stand bags because weight isn’t as much of a concern. The extra dividers can be used for a ball retriever, a training aid or alignment sticks.
Q: Does the cart strap pass-through matter?
A: Yes. A well-built strap system ensures all pockets are accessible and keeps your clubs strapped securely to the cart.
Q: Do dividers really matter on a cart bag?
A: Dividers are one of the most important features because poorly designed dividers will cause snagging when taking your clubs out. Trust us … it gets annoying. Well-spaced dividers allow for easy extraction of your clubs.
