Golf bags are challenging. There are only so many improvements you can make before you run the risk of losing performance value. The Vessel Lux XV 2.0 cart bag is a great example of making small, marked improvements without going overboard.

There’s no need to overhaul the Lux cart bag design. The original Lux Cart has been a solid all-around performer in our quest to find the best golf bags. So, instead of scrapping the successful design, Vessel chose to iterate upon it in a few ways.

Club Organization

The biggest change from the Lux Cart to the Lux XV 2.0 is the dividers. The former featured either a seven- or 14-way top. The new Lux XV 2.0 has a standard 15-way top with a dedicated putter well. If you really want to take your organization to the next level, Vessel offers a golf club organizer attachment (sold separately). This organizer sits on top of the dividers to hold your irons in place. The result? Bye, bye, bag chatter.

Storage

The new Lux XV 2.0 features seven pockets (four on the front and three on the side), giving it two additional pockets over its predecessor. With a cart bag, storage has to be king. Because a cart bag isn’t meant to be carried, it should have lots of pockets and storage space. The Vessel Lux XV 2.0 has plenty of room for everything you need and then some.

One Tiny Tradeoff

What does all of the added storage and dividers get you? More weight. Perhaps the only thing not improved upon for the Lux XV 2.0 versus the original Lux Cart is the weight. The new Lux XV 2.0 weighs in at 8.45 pounds while the 14-way version of the Lux Cart weighed 6.95.

A Vessel Indeed

What’s Vessel’s goal with the new Lux XV 2.0? To enhance your golfing experience. Overall, I think the Vessel Lux XV 2.0 is a worthy vessel to house your golf gear. The changes and improvements are not show-stopping but they are plentiful and useful. All in all, if you’re a fan of Vessel golf bags, this could be the one for you.

Before providing my total recommendation, I’ll have to get the Lux XV 2.0 in for a full review. Until then, you can sign up for exclusive access to buy the lastest and (hopefully) greatest from Vessel now.
