We Tried It: Inesis High MOI Putter Review

There is a lot of cool gear in the golf equipment world that doesn’t always fit neatly into Most Wanted Tests or Buyer’s Guides. You still want to know how it performs. In our We Tried It series, we put gear to the test and let you know if it works as advertised.

WHAT WE TRIED

Inesis High MOI Putter: A premium offering from Inesis focusing on forgiveness and alignment.

YOUR INESIS HIGH MOI PUTTER REVIEWER

Phillip Bishop – A woeful putter. Perhaps, this is the one.

ABOUT THE INESIS HIGH MOI PUTTER

Well, you guessed it. This is a putter that concentrates on MOI. Not just any amount of MOI but high MOI. If you have a different name suggestion, feel free to leave a comment below.

If you are an avid MyGolfSpy reader, you are most likely familiar with Inesis and/or Decathlon. However, if you are not, they are an active sports brand from France.

From hiking to cycling, if it involves fitness or exercise, they have a product for you. And in most scenarios, they offer tremendous value.

INESIS HIGH MOI KEY FEATURES

Let’s talk technology. Here are some key design features:

304 stainless steel body Face-balanced design 370-gram head Aluminum and thermoplastic polyurethane make up 50% of the clubhead materials Available in 33″ and 34″ Right-handed only

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

In the past, we’ve seen a few Inesis products come through our facility. Few of them have truly caught my eye or the eyes of our testers. 2022 brought about Inesis putters being included in Most Wanted Testing. None of those products truly stood out.

However, the Inesis High MOI putter provides an immediate, appealing impression. At address, it has a clean appearance. The white alignment line contrasts well with the navy blue. Furthermore, there is a single dot that marries to the end of the alignment aid.

An appealing first impression is definitely evident. That’s my opinion as well as that of individuals at our testing facility and a few of my golfing friends.

PUTTER REVIEW

Prior to working at MyGolfSpy, I was never much of a “tinkerer”. And I certainly don’t have the knowledge and prowess of Dave Wolfe our resident flatstick fanatic. But since working here, I’ve tried a plethora of different putters. So what’s one more?

I gave the Inesis High MOI putter a spin without hesitation.

In addition to the appearance, the weighting and balance of the putter are agreeable. For me, it was one of the first positives. Even on the golf course, I felt comfortable with the putter in my hands. Albeit subjective, I found the weighting, balance and looks very positive. I can attest this face-balanced putter lives up to its design.

The one aspect of this putter I am not keen on is feel. Again, entirely subjective, but there is little to no feedback across the face. Personally, I like distinction between center contact versus heel and toe contact.

BOTTOM LINE

Inesis is making strides in their golf equipment. They’ve always been a brand offering value in the recreational sporting realm. The Inesis High MOI putter is a new page in their traditional playbook.

At $189, it’s a higher price than their other putters. This alone might cause golfers to be wary of purchasing it, especially U.S. consumers.

Furthermore, the product is only available as a right handed putter. Sorry, lefties.

Personally, I’m looking forward to how this putter performs in Most Wanted testing. Overall, based on my experience, I think it will garner positive feedback from our testers.

As of right now, it didn’t “wow” me enough to put in my bag full time. I might tinker with it some more on various green speeds.

In summary, I can’t definitively say it’s a game changer. The Inesis High MOI putter is simply bland—just like the name.
