PGA Notes: Did Waugh Set Off A Week Of More LIV Bickering?

Over and over again, it has been the history of clubs in this country that where one man has been in authority, working on lines laid down by a definite plan, the course has improved wonderfully and continues to improve. It is also a noticeable fact that employees do their work better and at less cost when keeping in touch with such continued authority. Why is it that shrewd men, who recognize it is vital in their business to have a well-defined policy and demand adherence to it, sanction the very opposite action when it comes to golf club matters? PING Limited Edition PLD “PING Slam” Pal 2 Putter

PING releases their second “PING Slam” 2023 PLD limited-edition putter. The PLD Limited Pal 2 honors Jeff Sluman’s win at the 1988 PGA Championship. The fully milled stainless steel PLD Pal 2 drops May 16 at 2 p.m. EST.

Next Tuesday, PING is releasing their second limited-edition PLD putter to commemorate their 1988 “PING Slam.” IF you missed the first release and are unfamiliar with the PING Slam, let me get you up to speed.

In 1988, all PING putters won all four men’s major championships. This had never happened before and has not happened since. I still find this hard to believe but it’s true. The only company to complete this feat is PING.

The first putter in the limited-edition PLD line was Sandy Lyle’s Pal that he used to win the 1988 Masters. The next putter in the queue corresponds with our next major, the 2023 PGA Championship.

2023 PING PLD Pal 2 Limited Edition

Yes, it’s another victorious Pal. This time, we are looking at an updated version of Jeff Sluman’s PGA Championship-winning Pal 2.

If you are wondering about how a Pal compares to a Pal 2, think about the Anser versus Anser 2. Like the Anser 2, the Pal 2 is longer and thinner than the Pal. The other visible design difference is the Pal’s plumber’s neck being replaced with a short flow neck in the Pal 2.

Callaway Chrome Soft USA TruTrack Golf Balls

The golf ball pattern wars are heating up – even if it’s mostly just two brands fighting them.

If you’re keeping score at home, we’ve got Truvis, Triple Track, Pix, Matryx, Stripe, MySymbol, Fade, Triple Track 360—and now TruTrack.

One of those is made up and it’s certainly possible I missed one or two other real ones but, regardless, it’s pretty wild that four of those have emerged in just the last month.

I suspect it won’t be long before we see more.

About Callaway Chrome Soft USA TruTrack

Today, we’re going to focus on Callaway TruTrack. It’s Callaway’s latest golf ball pattern and it will be available on Chrome Soft, Chrome Soft X and Chrome Soft X LS
