Shot Scope LX+ Review
If you’re still pacing off your yardages, you’re potentially losing out on shooting lower scores.
Rangefinder technology is continuously evolving. Companies like Bushnell Golf and Garmin are jam-packing their rangefinders with visual hole layover, wind direction, hazard yardage line … the list goes on.
However, there’s another company that just might be outdoing those big names when it comes to tech integration.
I present the Shot Scope LX+.
Shot Scope LX+ Product Details
For those who are not familiar with Shot Scope, they’re based in Edinburgh, Scotland. They produce high-performing GPS watches/handhelds, shot tracking and, in recent years, golf rangefinders. After testing the Shot Scope LX+, I can tell you it’s in a league of its own when it comes to technology.

The forged side of the lineup, the JPX 923 Forged and JPX 923 Tour, won’t launch until February.
You can read about both of those here.
Launching Hot Metal in the fall gives Mizuno the opportunity to hit peak golf season in the Sun Belt. That’s the ideal audience for Mizuno’s game-improvement clubs and that should prove especially true with the new JPX 932 HL.

Bummer. Come on, Mizuno.
It’s not lost on Mizuno that five months is a hell of a long time to keep golfers waiting but, with photos already floating around the interwebs, there isn’t much point in trying to keep the irons a secret—not that you couldn’t have guessed new JPX were coming anyway.
Why wait?

Top 5 Golf Shoes from StockX
Last week we introduced a new segment: the Top 5 Golf Shoes from StockX.
Much of the reaction was positive—most of it from the new wave of golfers like me who believe looking good on the course is half the battle. It’s not that fashion and function necessarily are mutually exclusive. There are plenty of top-performing golf shoes we’ve tested that look as good as they perform.
But I firmly believe it’s totally fine to buy a pair of golf shoes because of the hype rather than focusing on their performance.
Yes, I said it. You’re allowed to buy golf shoes that on paper won’t help your game. And that’s really what this segment is about.
With that mantra firmly in mind, here are my top five golf shoes from StockX this week:
Scotty Cameron MONOBLOK Limited-Edition Putters
Scotty Cameron is releasing two new limited-edition MONOBLOK mallet putters. Each GOLO-inspired putter is milled from a single block of 303 stainless steel.Available in shops October 7th, with a MSRP of $650.
Going Back to GOLO
Scotty Cameron has spiced up what is usually a bland time of the golf-release year with the release of the MONOBLOK 6 and 6.5 limited-edition putters.
Limited releases are always interesting but this one seems especially so, both in design and marketing strategy. As expected, these non-retail Cameron putters bring you some non-retail aspects. Limited-edition putters must be different from retail putters. That’s expected. However, what I find fascinating is that the release also focuses on a business-as-usual Scotty Cameron design feature.
It’s a story of the new and the norm. On one hand, the MONOBLOK release brings new GOLO-inspired designs. That’s exciting since the last GOLO retail line was released in 2016. The MONOBLOK 6 and MONOBLOk 6.5 heads will look familiar to those who know GOLO putters but they are new sizes and tweaks on that design.
We all expect this kind of story when it comes to limited-edition putters. New shapes, technologies, colors and headcovers are mandatory. This is what drives collectors to shell out $650 for a new limited-edition putter.
So why are the MONOBLOK putters named, and marketed, based on something that Cameron does with every putter?
EDEL SMS IRONS TEST
OUR JOB IS YOUR GAME
With Most Wanted Testing officially over, our “off season” fills up with lab opportunities. It’s a chance to focus on technologies (and related claims) more closely. Hence, conducting an Edel SMS Irons Test.
In July, Edel launched SMS Irons featuring the Swing Match weighting system. The point of technical differentiation is that each iron offers movable weights with each head. The release of the Edel SMS irons brought with it some bold, eyebrow-raising claims.
We put those claims to the test. Today, we dive into the results and do an Edel iron review.
EDEL SMS IRON TEST
Per usual, data was collected using Foresight GCQuad Launch monitors. To minimize variables, all testers hit Titleist Pro V1 golf balls.
For this test, 25 testers hit shots using 7-irons. Four conditions were tested: SMS neutral (center), SMS heel, SMS toe and the testers’ gamers.
